Naturaly

I love living this close to the Everglades.  No doubt I am a city girl but there is no place on earth where nature does not exist.  Looking back now, I see how little I knew about the natural world and how infinite the lessons.  From the many birds who provide song tracks to life to the most minute insects which can only be seen through a zoom lens, they are always a joy to experience.

Truth be told, it is the dragonflies that seem to escort me everywhere.  They are so very curious and fearless.  I will devote another post to them, my favorite of all my yard friends.

April Rain

I love the rainy season in South Florida.  It doesn't rain all day like I remember in California.  But it rains every day for a while.  Without the interference of neighbors and traffic nearby, I get to enjoy the subtle sounds of the rain as it bounces off the trees and shrubs outside of my bedroom window.

There is something soothing about the sounds and it feels as if my thoughts and spirit are being cleansed by the rain as well.  There is something to be said about the effect water has on us. And everything looks beautiful behind my lens.

Rail Away!

Stone Mountain Park, Georgia.

I visited Georgia this past winter and got a chance to take some photos at Stone Mountain. For years, our family spent a lot of time exploring and having fun here. The boys still fondly remember riding the old train around the mountain.
